The Online Citizen aims to give Singaporeans stories and news articles that are not presented in the mainstream. As we all know, the main local paper is owned by the Government and so to a big extent the stories presented are vetted by the Government to tell their side, but for a nation to grow and mature, its citizens need to be presented with ALL sides of the story and be able to discern and make decisions for themselves.

Photography has become, in the past 10 years, a hobby for many amateurs with much thanks to the rise of the Toy Camera. Many of my friends have moved on from taking photos from with the LCA and Holga to proper DSLR or SLR cameras.
Clubsnap is a community of photography enthusiasts who gather to talk about the finer points of photography ranging from camera reviews to Digital Imaging Workflow, and even organising photoshooting outings. There are currently 953 active users and the most u...
One of the least populated sports is Kiteboarding. It's always a sight to watch, but few dare take it up. Looking at my stick thin arms, I think Kiteboarding might be better for someone else who's buff and can at least do a coupla pull ups on the bar. I don't think I can manage even one!
We have a very small community here of about 30 kiteboaders out of which 2 - 3 are women and 30% are expats and rest, locals. I'm not sure what the demographics are for the group but a majori...
This is macho stuff guys. I don't believe in guns, even as a sport. Anyways, Airsoft a sport that enables competitors to shoot at targets with speed and accuracy (much like FBI training courses you see on tv serials I would suppose :P) as they go through the course and it comes with guidelines which you adhere to.
Scaryyyyy
The sport was banned in Singapore till recently and there was a petition going round, in 2008. It said: "If a country that allows both actual firearms and a...
The sight of cheerleaders look extremely happy prancing about in short skirts and shouting slightly inaudible cheers warms the cockles of the hearts of many a man. So Singaporean men will be happy to know that there is a thriving cheerleading community here on our sunny shores. So thriving that there's an association set up to front the different teams, serving them since 2003 and compeitions and roadshows at welcoming malls. Many of the local teams are helmed by universities and polytechnics...

"I love Ang Mohs (a Singaporean term for Caucasian meaning "red haired") and it's precisely kids like these (notioning to two random unsuspecting little Caucasian boys eating ice creams) that make me a paedophile." says Alicia much to the alarm of their mother sitting by them. Hmmm, I wonder if Alicia replaced "I really love kids" with "paedophile". But then again one can never judge a sexual predator by its cover. Use the dictionary!!!
Alicia the...
Buzz Singapore is one of the latest social networking sites, having started in 2008, it's grown to 849 members of all nationalities in just over a year. Brent Nunuk, the founder of BuzzSingapore who created the site using Ning.com set out to make the community a place to make new friends, learn about upcoming local events, find

Multiply touts itself as a network secure, family-friendly media sharing site where you can easily "create, share and discuss your blog, photos, and videos with more of the people you know, and fewer of the people you don't." That's always how social networking sites start out don't they? Family-friendly, safe, and for you to link up with the folks you know and you keep it tight within the family. Then faster than you can say "whuttt" you have strangers adding you to thei...
S.O.F.T. has been in existence, as far as I can remember (I have very poor memory) since 2003. The site doesn't talk about the network's history, but it describes itself on the site's wiki as a"collaborative website (that) aims to complement the Singaporean music
scene, culture and its people with a medium via which individuals can
communicate and acquire knowledge, at the same time supplementing the Singapore Music Community and Forum with a pool of organised information that would oth...
