
With over 85% of India's mobile phone users using pre paid connections, gaming portals like zapak, games2win, indiagames are eyeing prepaid customers. According to Economic Times report these companies are going to introduce prepaid mobile game cards. This will allow the companies access to groups who are not interested in paying a monthly fee, either for economis reasons or just simply because they don't play much.
Zapak has tied up with Shoppers’ Stop, Future Group and Lifestyle while Hungama Mobile has the coffee cafe chain, Cafe Coffee Day distributing its cards. Indiagames is planning to set up its own retail shops, IG Shops, which will sell gaming cards along the latest gizmos.
Market Research shows that online games is a major huge hit among youth; more and more people are turning on the path of gaming. Online gaming revenues are expected to rise much more in near future.
Thus there is a lot of potential for improvement. With the per person indispensable income increasing steadily, the people are ready more than ever to spend on leisure and entertainment. Prepaid Cards will play an important role in this and will be a good option to offer to youngsters who usually dont own a credit card.
