Facebook Games make fans out of Singaporeans!

As Singaporeans are more and more spellbound by Facebook (more and more friends are signing up with Facebook! I sometimes get up to 20 adds a day!) And as we try to do less and less at work by logging on more and more frequently to Facebook on our employers' time, we find ourselves drawn to fun 3rd party applications like Scrabulous (I've 5 games going on and am losing 3, gahhhh), Pop Culture Quizzes, Mind Jolt Games (where you have arcade, puzzle and strategy games), ATTACK!, Video Game Rack and tons more.

Scrabulous is my favourite. For anyone that loves to play Scrabble, this application lets you do it your way. There are options to play with other users that aren’t even online. This way, you can let your Scrabble game go on forever. Well, maybe not forever, but at least you can play when you want to play. Once you’ve added Scrabulous, you can choose to host a game, start a game with a friend, see who’s online now, find a friend that’s currently playing, or join a table.

Scrabulous is also one of the most popular with 435,934 daily active users! Amazing!

Another game that's gotten my friends and I by the neck is ATTACK!. It's like Risk on Facebook. Up to 6 of your friends can compete to conquer the world. Also, you get extra armies for inviting your friends to join. It has heaps of active players so you're never short for competitors - 26,476 daily active users.

The economy of 3rd party Facebook applications is now booming. Developers are going wild, and as a result, Facebook is becoming a much more interesting place to spend time online.

Opening up the Facebook platform was a GREAT move for several reasons:

  1. Creating a 3rd party developer network will bring a whole new segment of users to Facebook - developers and those in their networks.
  2. The availability of a larger number of applications gives users more reasons to spend time logged on, which in turn increases Facebook's attractiveness to both users and advertisers.
  3. It creates an economy upon which a larger number of people can benefit. With Facebook, 3rd party developers have a place to be creative and market their products to a wide and connected audience, without the financial risk associated with going to market on their own. Facebook users are closely connected to each other, and as a result, good applications have a much greater chance of succeeding quickly through viral marketing.

I also found a very good facebook game made by a Signapore company.

I am not a Signaporean, but really think this is a very good job and I do like it.
