| By Bayliss on 26 Apr 2008. | Taipei | May 2008 | Arts&Design | Culture | Tribe |
Being a VIP member in Audi is my first goal right now, because their gifts this year for VIPs is one limit of quantity artwork made by Zhu Ming who is a super well-known Taiwanese sculpture artist.
Art now is around in our cities and life; you can see many public arts on streets, building lobbies, stations and parks. It makes our life having more vitality, energy and culture. Also makes our step slowly to look out the ambiance.
I am gradually used to take pictures with my Canon 20D for what public arts I passed through; it lets me feel that Taipei city is more beautiful as a matter of fact I thought. It's so cool~

With the income increase of Chinese, traveling is becoming an ever popular choice of relaxation among young people aged 18-35 y.o. Currently, there are two types of travelling, guided tour and DIY tour. Many tourists favor the former one. However, for me and lots of my friends, the self-planed trip is seen as the smartest choice. Guided tour is not seen as genuine travel and it is only for those old people and those who lacks of adventure spirit.

Grass-roots NGO:1kg More
| By Kitty on 25 Apr 2008. | Shanghai | Mar 2008 | Causes | Tribe |

1 kg more is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that sought to build a volunteer network of travelers to help kids in remote areas of China by delivering much needed books and other school supplies.
I became aware of 1kg.org about half year ago when watching Touch Media in taxi. I followed the stories on blog and was amazed by how many young people were willing to help the kids as volunteers. However, I was disappointed that I didn’t see much coverage of this organization in the mainstream media.
Last year, 131 travels were organized to help kids in remote areas via ‘1kg more’. Today, 1kg.org manages a database of around 367 elementary schools which includes information on: 1) how many students are in the school; 2) what is the kids’ primary need; 3) the school name and contact person; 4) detailed directions, including method of transportation, of how an independent traveler can reach the school.
